This simple and tasty Vietnamese sweet and sour fish sauce mix (Nước Mắm Chua Ngọt) makes great dipping and dressing sauce for meat, seafood, salad, noodles, eggrolls and spring rolls! Make a large batch and keep it in the fridge for a quick fix! For optimal flavor and freshness, add minced garlic and chili right before serving.
- ½ cup fish sauce
- 10 tbsp sugar
- ½ cup boiling water
- ¼ cup lime juice or vinegar
- 5 cloves garlic minced
- 6-7 bird's eye chilies minced
- Mix sugar with boiling water and stir til sugar is dissolved completely. Stir in the rest of the ingredients. Store in glass jar. Add minced garlic and chili before serving.
